Have received the micro actuators. They are of excellent quality, and both protract and retract at the rate specified in the datasheet. They will work well for the tilting funtion in my application.

I see that you have Ingress Protection. IP-65. I would like to inquire more about how you concluded that your device was IP-65. What were the tests preformed in detail? Was the device sent to a designated Ingress Protection test facility? I went to the manufacturers website (the Chinese company (Jiecang) that makes this actuator) and found that for this same actuator they claim IP-54/66.
Looking forward to hearing back.
Thank you.

Hi Adrian,
My apologies for the delayed response but your comment was missed. The Nexus is manufactured by Morai Motion but Jiecang. Morai Motion test in their own facility.
They test the model by placing the actuator in waterproof chamber and spraying each stroke length for 1 hour. After 1 hour they are disassembled and evaluated.

Hey,
Thank you for the response. Are the actuators being cycled while they are being sprayed by water? Other than dissembly and checking for moisture penetration, are the actuators ran after the test without being disassembled or dried off? I am curious how their own IP testing differs from that of a designated IP testing facility.
Thanks

I am lookin g for the smallest possible solution to serve as a button pusher for a bed remote for someone with ALS. I need to be able to control the duration of the ‘push’, so some off the shelf solutions like the micro bot may not work. I would love to hear your thoughts

Do these have integrated limit switches?
Are there cycle time limitations? Can the run continuously?
admin –
Hi Omar,
They do have internal non-adjustable built-in limit switches.
They cannot be run continuously. Duty cycle is 20%. Recommend 5 minutes of continuous use then 15-20 mins rest.
